Adobe Illustrator Assignments
Illustrator is the second Adobe program students worked with. During the year students were assigned lessons and assignments to help them perfect their Illustrator skills. Lessons were teacher directed in order to gain new skills and assignments were more free form allowing students to expand on those skills.
Illustration Image #1
This is the first Illustrator assignment. The only direction students were given was to use the Illustrator program to create a picture. This assignment allowed students to become familiar with Illustrator skills like creating basic shapes, painting objects, selecting objects, using the pen tool, splitting lines, and ending path segments.

Adobe Illustrator Lesson #5
Cityscape Assignment
Students are tasked with creating a cityscape using the Illustrator program. This assignment is meant to allow students to practice using the shape tools, the pen tool and layering objects.
Business Card Assignment
Students are tasked with creating a business card for their personal imaginary business. This must include a logo created specifically for their business. Students create the logo on a professional business card template.

Trace Assignment
This assignment allows students to practice tracing a raster image (JPEG). The image is found on the internet or scanned into the computer. Students practice using the pen tool and painting features to recreate the image exactly. This skill is often used by professionals to create a vector image that can be resized without losing image quality.
Advertisement Assignment
This assignment is similar to the trace assignment. Instead of using an online image, a magazine or newspaper image is scanned into the computer.
